About Us

NEXT in Nonprofits (NiN) provides outsourced development, communications, and strategy services to charities and social good organizations. We specialize in communications (social media, web content, donation pages), fundraising, and development support. We offer grant writing, donor communications, campaign strategy and execution, event planning, and more. We also offer strategic services, including budgeting, coaching and project planning. 

Role and Responsibilities

We seek a new team member to provide business development and administrative support. 

  • Coordinate general organizational operations by defining processes and procedures
  • Participate in organizational systems and team structure to ensure processes run smoothly and efficiently
  • Oversee accounts receivable for accurate and timely invoicing and management
  • Follow up on new client proposals promptly through email 
  • Provide administrative support, including organizing files, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence
  • Support client deliverables, such as data management and related research, when assigned 

This position offers flexibility and autonomy, allowing you to manage your own schedule in a fully remote environment. You will leverage your experience in business administration to support a small team of consultants, applying your organizational skills, effective communication, and proactive approach to ensure the team’s success. Qualifications and Educational Requirements

The ability to organize, implement, and manage processes and procedures is a key requirement. Formal educational levels are not required. Prior administrative experience is appreciated, and we encourage further learning.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, clients, and external partners.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in tasks such as data entry, document preparation, and financial records.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and find solutions quickly and efficiently.
  • Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and other relevant tools like CRM systems and project management platforms or a willingness to learn new technology. 
  • Customer Service: Providing professional and courteous support to clients and stakeholders.
  • Discretion and Confidentiality: Handling sensitive information with care and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to handle changing priorities and new tasks as they arise.
  • Initiative: Proactively identify ways to improve processes and support the team more effectively.

NEXT in Nonprofits does not currently offer healthcare benefits. Wages have been scaled to compensate for this lack of offering, and persons needing coverage are encouraged to use the MNsure exchange. Paid Time Off (PTO) is 15 days per year plus all federal holidays. We look forward to adding retirement contributions and additional benefits as the organization grows.
