Peter Rachleff is co-director of the East Side Freedom Library, an innovative new charity on Saint Paul’s East Side. The Freedom Library “inspires solidarity, advocates for justice and works toward equity for all.” This new resource has repurposed an unused Carnegie library to serve a place of story for immigration, labor, African-American history and community arts which reflect these areas.
Peter joins host Steve Boland to talk about the decision to create this organization, the funding challenges presented in seeking support for a new type of nonprofit, building capacity in fundraising, and much more.
